For my first post, I thought it would be appropriate to share a little bit about myself.
My name is Whitney! I am from a small town in southwestern Minnesota. I grew up on a farm and absolutely loved it! After high school, I attended Minnesota West Community and Technical College in my hometown. I cheered there for the Blue Jays football team. I now go to school at Southwest Minnesota State University completing my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and minoring in Management! This is my last semester and as a senior, I have been blessed with the best roommates thus far. My experience at Southwest Minnesota State is not one I would change for the world. I love the small town atmosphere, reminds me of home. It is far enough away from home, but close enough to visit whenever I get homesick. When I visit home, I visit my mom and dad. It is very important for me to visit as often as I can because I am an only child.
Concerning jobs, I have worked at a locally owned retail store called Main Street Kids, in downtown Worthington, MN. I have worked there since my junior year of high school. We sell maternity and kids formal apparel. I love developing relationships with the customers. My favorite part is helping them make decisions. Along with Main Street Kids, I work in the Southwest Marketing Advisory Center (SMAC). Here, I am an account executive. I help clients develop business plans, marketing plans, and assist them with any other specific needs that pertain to their business.
Things I love:
My cat Fluffy, sunsets, star gazing, God, movies, reading articles and watching the news, exercising. The thing I love the most is hanging out with my friends and family. I am very grateful to have the people that I do in my life. I don’t know where I would be without them.
A few of my favorites:
Food: steak and mashed potatoes and gravy.
TV Channels: Discovery, National Geographic, TLC, and History.
Sports: Baseball and Hockey, Football, and Racing.
Quote: “Those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.”
Stay tuned for the next blog. 🙂
